Tonight is the first run of the season and we have a schedule set up for the fall as well. This first week we'll run Tuesday and Thusday meeting in front of the gym at 6:45 PM. Can't make Tuesdays and Thursdays work? Next week we'll be running all four days from Monday-Thursday at the same time and place and we have an event planned for Sunday morning as well (check the calendar for info). We'll start doing different sorts of runs (tempo, track work, etc.) in the next week or two.
We can't wait to see everyone out there. Don't forget, there is no minimum (or maximum) speed limit! We'll be able to split up the group to keep everyone happy.
As always, we encourage feedback, so let us know if you would like to run at a different time or can't run with us on this schedule, and we may change it if enough of you let us know. We're really excited to start running with and get to know all of you!

The fall semester may mark the end of summer, but it is more a season of beginnings - new classes, new people and new training runs. An important part of that is setting up our schedule of group runs. In the past, we've had runs in the evening during the week, and fairly regular sunday runs that met off campus. Right now we are planning on having runs Monday-Thursday at a number of different times, in the hopes that everyone will be able to attend at least one.
We also are planning some races to compete in, for people who are interested.
I'm setting some things up to get the word out and let people know what we are about by changing the facebook connectivity and integrating an element that will allow us to track and post the group runs. The tool is called dailymile.com and I would recommend it to anyone who might want their own account; it can help keep you motivated when you track your mileage. The group account will illustrate what we're normally up to during our runs.
Looking forward to seeing all kinds of old an new faces soon! Keep on running!

After this evening's run, the members in attendance stretched and commenced with the first-ever officer elections for the Knight Runners. After all was said and done, the club had four newly-elected official officer positions and one additional officer. The officer's first president is Brittany Davies, and Kevin Firestone is our vice president for summer and fall 2010. Also, Sean Skow was elected treasurer and Jess Hladik was elected to the position of secretary. Seth Funderburg was appointed the stretch and sweat coordinator since sweating is his number one gig.
Summer running is still in the planning stages, but group runs on Sundays should be expected, as well as hopefully 3-4 semi-organized runs throughout the week.

Welcome, everyone, to the homepage of the University of Central Florida Knight Runners! We're a young organization, looking for all kinds of members of any ability level. We focus on running, but like to emphasize a feeling of camaraderie and have fun as well.
We'll have people running during the summer, with the schedule yet to be determined. I encourage everyone who is even a little interested to sign up under both the "Members" and "Join Us" links at the top of the page, it only takes a few minutes.
I'm really looking forward to seeing as many new faces out there this summer and fall as possible.
